As a student organizer and a microbiologist, Shailene has experience in two things that we need to tackle the climate emergency— building people power and listening to science. Running against longtime Conservative MP Colin Carrie, she’s taking on someone who once called Stephen Harper a “world leader” on climate action and who doesn’t seem to understand that communities like Oshawa are the very places that need big, bold just transition policies.
